Carlson Advancing STEM Education

Carlson Software announced its continued commitment to advancing STEM education globally through the introduction of the Carlson STEM Scholarship Competition. This initiative aims to inspire and support the upcoming generation of hydrology engineers, emphasizing the vital role of hydrological design.

The Carlson Software’s Hydrology Engineer STEM Learning Simulator offers young, aspiring engineers the opportunity to learn about water flow in a typical built subdivision environment. The goal of the simulator is to design an approved stormwater network to drain the water from the roads to the detention pond for the lowest cost solution possible.

To be eligible a student must be enrolled in a 5th-12th public or non-profit private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university with 501 status. Applicants must produce a stormwater design meeting the criteria of the game and submit a scholarship application to Carlson Software. The lowest-cost stormwater design score in each U.S. state will receive a $3,000 scholarship award, with $2,000 designated to the submitting student and $1,000 to the student’s educational institution.
