TAKRAF USA reported it fulfilled a contract to design and supply a Roto-Louvre Dryer to process sodium metabisulfite material for a client in Texas, USA. The dryer and ancillary equipment arrived in January. During February, the customer self-performed the installation and commissioning of the unit with technical support from TAKRAF USA. It has been operational for more than three months and the customer is extremely satisfied, TAKRAF reported. It is the first dryer unit designed and supplied by TAKRAF since it acquired FMC Technologies’ Material Handling Systems in 2016. Separately, TAKRAF reported receiving a contract for two High-Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) for a cement plant in Turkey. Each HPGR incorporates rolls with a diameter of 1,800 mm, a width of 1,600 mm and a weight of more than 50 short tons (st). Two variable frequency drives, with a combined power output of around 3,000 kilowatts, will enable the processing of more than 1,000 st per hour, TAKRAF reported. The machines will be engineered and manufactured in Lauchhammer, with delivery scheduled in H1 2019.
