CDE Wet Processing Plant Supports Waste Recovery

Rino Recycling’s construction and demolition (C&D) waste recycling facility, featuring CDE’s wet processing system, recently launched operations in Brisbane. This facility, designed as a hybrid plant with both wet and dry processing capabilities, aims to increase waste recovery rates and capture reusable construction materials otherwise bound for landfill. With a capacity to process up to 475 tonnes per hour, the plant will play a role in managing waste from commercial, excavation, and mixed recyclables in the Brisbane area.

The wet processing plant integrates CDE’s materials washing technology with Turmec’s dry processing system, allowing continuous processing without manual input. The water management component includes CDE’s AquaCycle™ system, which recycles up to 95% of water, contributing to water neutrality in the plant’s operations. Positioned close to Brisbane’s Central Business District, this setup helps reduce transportation costs and carbon emissions by providing a local solution for resource recovery in one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

“South East Queensland is experiencing a surge in construction projects and infrastructure investments. This plant not only supports the development of essential projects but also promotes an economic and sustainable approach to managing C&D waste.” said Daniel Webber, CDE Australasia general manager.
