GeoMoby has announced that its Real-Time Location and Communication System (RTLCS) has been successfully integrated with Ventsim CONTROL, a ventilation management software used in underground mining. According to the company, this integration enables more precise tracking of personnel and equipment, allowing mine operators to optimize ventilation on demand and potentially reduce energy costs. Testing of the integrated system was completed in February 2025.
Ventsim CONTROL, developed by US-based Ventsim, is widely used in the mining industry to automate and optimize airflow, heating, and cooling in underground operations. GeoMoby says its technology enhances this system by providing real-time location data, enabling ventilation adjustments based on workforce movement. The company notes that this could lead to significant cost savings for mines already using Ventsim software.
“Our technology allows mines to ventilate only the areas where workers are present, which can drastically cut power consumption. With accurate real-time tracking, operators can reduce ventilation in unused areas, making underground mining more efficient.” said GeoMoby Director Mathieu Paul.
