Cummins Adds Battery Energy Storage to Power Generation Portfolio

Cummins has introduced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to its power generation lineup. The company says that these fully integrated BESS solutions, available in 200kWh to 2MWh capacities, are designed to support customers in reducing emissions and managing energy more efficiently. The systems are housed in either a 10ft or 20ft container and feature lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) batteries, liquid cooling thermal management, and a three-tier fire safety approach.

These storage solutions can be used for off-grid operations, energy management, and critical infrastructure. The company highlights that the plug-and-play design simplifies transportation and installation.

“The global shift for renewable energy sources is becoming more profound. We’re proud to expand our offerings to include BESS, staying in line with that shift and serving our customers with safe and reliable solutions that can help them meet their energy transition goals.” said Lucio Kroll, Senior Director New Energy Solutions of Cummins Power Generation.
