Elphinstone has marked the manufacture and sale of its 50th WR820 Underground Base Platform, with two WR820 Agitator 10m³ units purchased by Byrnecut for use in West Africa. Built at the company’s Burnie facility in Tasmania, the WR820 platform is designed for a range of underground mining applications, with the agitator configuration focused on transporting concrete to backfill voids.
Elphinstone says the platform’s capacity, productivity and backfilling capability were key factors in Byrnecut’s decision. The WR820 can also be configured as a water tank for dust suppression, with a maximum water capacity of 16,000 litres. Byrnecut operates one of the world’s largest fleets of underground mining trucks and prioritises targeted, efficient equipment solutions across its operations.
The company adds that the WR820 platform is proven across Australian and international mine sites, with each unit supported by Elphinstone’s local manufacturing and product support teams.
