Sika has expanded its presence in Ecuador with a new production facility in Quito, aiming to improve supply chain efficiency and meet growing demand for mortar products used in interior walls and tile adhesives. The company says this development will allow it to serve customers in the northern part of the country more directly, reducing transport times and emissions.
The new facility complements Sika’s existing mortar plant in Guayaquil and supports the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in construction markets across the Americas. According to Sika, the expansion builds on its long-standing presence in Ecuador and follows the acquisition of Parex in 2019, which significantly increased its tile adhesive offering.
“Our new plant in Quito comes at a pivotal moment as Ecuador experiences a strong rebound in construction activity. Sika is well positioned to supply the growing markets in both the North and South of the country with high-quality, innovative solutions.” said Mike Campion, Regional Manager Americas.
