Scania is touring 13 European cities with six different electric truck models, aiming to showcase their potential in heavy-duty operations. Covering applications from tipper and hooklift vehicles to refuse collection and urban deliveries, the roadshow demonstrates how electric trucks can be integrated into demanding work environments, including construction and mining sites. The initiative forms part of the company’s broader strategy to support the shift to sustainable transport through electrification.
The roadshow spans some 20,000 kilometres, beginning in Denmark and ending in Sweden. Vehicles are charged at selected locations to illustrate practical battery use and strategies for optimising capacity based on operational needs. Operators are invited to experience the trucks firsthand, providing an opportunity to evaluate performance and consider how electrification might fit their own fleet requirements.
“We understand that many operators still have questions and concerns about electric transport,” says Alexandra Österplan, E-mobility stream leader at Scania. “So, rather than sitting back and assuming people will come to us, we are driving our electric trucks to where they are so they can see and experience for themselves the business benefits that electrification can bring.”
