Nokia Donates AI-Enabled Water Reuse System

Nokia has announced the donation of WOSH, an AI-enabled portable handwashing system that recycles more than 98% of its water, to Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan. The initiative aims to support the university’s sustainability efforts while providing students with practical exposure to advanced water reuse technology. The donation aligns with Aoyama Gakuin University’s focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration with industry partners.

The WOSH system will be introduced in phases, starting with its installation in the student lounge on the Aoyama campus to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) awareness. Following this, students at the Sagamihara campus will engage directly with the system, gaining hands-on experience that complements their theoretical understanding of AI-driven water reuse solutions.

“As a proud alumnus of Aoyama Gakuin University, I am excited to support this ESG initiative through industry-academia collaboration. Working with Aoyama Gakuin University, we are laying the groundwork for a future that values sustainability, innovation, and education. Students are the pioneers of the future, and we are delighted to provide them with the tools to build a brighter, more sustainable world.” said Tetsuo Kamoshita, Japan Country Manager at Nokia.
