SSAB - World's first fossil-free steel emits water instead of CO2

The world’s first fossil-free steel enables us to cut emissions to near zero. Instead of emitting CO2 as part of the process, we end up with water as a by-product.

The steel industry accounts for 7% of the world's CO2 emissions. With our new HYBRIT Technology, we can produce the first fossil-free steel. Instead of emitting CO2 as part of the process, the waste is just water. Actually, there is no waste since all the water emitted is re-used.
