AFRY report that they have been selected by Aura Minerals (Aura) to provide a comprehensive range of services, including multidisciplinary detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) and commissioning for the Borborema Project gold processing plant.
Aura is a gold and copper mining company focused on project development and operations in the Americas. The Borborema project will be built in the Aura’s open pit mine located in Currais Novos, around 170 km from the capital of Rio Grande do Norte. Commercial production is expected to start in the third quarter of 2025. It is stated that the mine has an expected production of 748,000ounces (oz) of gold over its lifecycle, initially estimated at 11 years, with the possibility of additional production increases.
