BASF is intensifying its research and development efforts in copper hydrometallurgy and flotation, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable mineral processing solutions. The company is relocating its global leaching R&D activities from Tucson, Arizona, to its advanced facility in Houston, Texas, aiming to consolidate expertise and foster innovation. This move integrates the leaching program into BASF's ongoing surfactant research, potentially enhancing the efficiency of next generation leaching aids.
In addition to advancing the LixTRA™ product line, BASF is decentralizing its technical and analytical capabilities for solvent extraction and electrowinning, bringing them closer to customers to ensure exceptional support. Customers using LIX® and LixMS™ will benefit from enhanced technical services and analytical support tailored to their needs. Furthermore, BASF continues to innovate in the field of sulfidic and non-sulfidic flotation, developing cutting-edge formulations under the Lupromin®, Luprofroth™, and Luproset™ brands to improve mineral processing efficiency.
“This synergy is poised to drive innovative solutions that could reshape the landscape of our industry,” said Caren Hoffmann, Vice President Mining Solutions at BASF.
