Immersive Technologies has announced the winners of its 16th annual Global Business Improvement Awards, recognising five mining companies for excellence in workforce development and operational optimisation. The awards are based on measurable results achieved through simulation-based training programs, with category winners selected from a global customer base spanning 54 countries. Areas of improvement included safety, productivity, machine reliability, training efficiency, and community development.
Projects conducted by award recipients involved a variety of OEM equipment, including fleets from Caterpillar®, Komatsu, Hitachi, and P&H, and delivered statistically verified performance outcomes. Notable improvements ranged from reduced machine wear and enhanced operator safety to faster load times and reduced training hours. Immersive Technologies positions its simulation platforms as a key enabler of these outcomes, supporting targeted, data-driven training initiatives across the mining sector.
“The improvement project has significantly reduced real machine events through targeted operator training and helped us meet company expectations regarding safety, productivity and machine health. The improvement is visible consistently through our weekly machine events data review.” said Oktovianus Bakkula, Mine Optimization Manager at PT Kaltim Prima Coal, winner in the Safety category.
