Booyco Electronics is extending its proximity detection system (PDS) solutions into Southern Africa, citing South Africa’s established role in implementing and refining the technology. The company says that South African mines, driven by regulatory requirements, have set a precedent for PDS deployment, and mining operations in neighboring countries are increasingly adopting similar systems.
Booyco adds that its products, designed to align with compliance standards across the region, are supported by a strategy of working with local partners. The company develops in-country technical expertise through a skills transfer program, ensuring that local teams can maintain and support the technology after initial deployment.
“Having worked with us before to understand PDS capabilities, these customers then develop an understanding of local requirements in the countries where they are now based. This creates valuable opportunities for us to expand into the region and share our knowledge and solutions further afield.” said Anton Lourens, CEO of Booyco Electronics.
