Vertex Minerals has partnered with Gekko Systems to revitalise the historic Hill End gold field in New South Wales, commissioning a refurbished modular plant that places sustainability and efficiency at the forefront. The plant, centred around Gekko’s InLine Pressure Jig and sensor-based ore sorting, is designed to recover over 90% of gold through gravity separation—without relying on chemicals or traditional milling methods.
The project demonstrates a rapid and effective refurbishment process, with the Gekko team delivering a fully operational plant in a short timeframe. By integrating a compact design with low energy and water demands, the system positions itself as a cost-effective model for modern gold recovery, especially in remote or legacy sites.
“We successfully developed a cost-effective flowsheet within a short lead time, and we look forward to the project’s success,” said Nigel Grigg, General Manager – Global Sales and Solutions at Gekko Systems.
