RCT says it has deployed its automation technology on CAT 349D excavators in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The system includes remote operation capabilities, enabling operators to control multiple machines equipped with rock breaker and back scratch attachments. The installation, carried out by RCT’s Perth Customer Service and Custom departments, featured automation technology, four cameras with Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) functionality, and an Automation Centre.
The project marks the first time RCT’s technology has been implemented on this excavator model. The company states that automating the process removes operators from hazardous environments, allowing control from an operator station on-site or in a remote location. RCT also provided operator training and ongoing customer support.
“This project marks the debut of our technology on this model of excavator, and the installation was seamless. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for our clients, and this project is a prime example of this.” said RCT’s Account Manager, Phill Dean.
