Caterpillar announced its new AD45 Underground Mining Truck is available in configurations that meet the strictest emissions standards. The truck features a payload of 45 metric tons (mt) and is designed to be paired with the Cat R1700 underground loader.
The AD45 delivers higher speed than its predecessor in the same envelope and with minimal exhaust emissions, Cat reported. It is powered by a 6-cylinder, air-to-air after cooled Cat C18 engine that offers 589 horsepower (hp) in standard configuration and 598 hp in European Union (EU) Stage V configuration. The engine and emissions module are proven in millions of hours of operation, the company reported. The truck comes equipped with Cat Product Link Elite, which allows machine health data to be readily shared and helps schedule service and maintenance.
The AD45 has two rear-facing cameras. The payload monitoring system has an external display to help the operator optimize loads. Different emissions packages are available.
