FLS Technology Chosen for Major Iron Ore Plant

FLS has secured an order to supply its flotation technology for what is expected to become one of the world’s largest and most efficient iron ore beneficiation plants. The facility, commissioned by a progressive Indian mining and steel company, will process low-grade domestic ore into a high-purity final product. As part of the scope, FLS will provide a full flotation package, including nextSTEP™ flotation cells and advanced monitoring systems, designed to maximise metallurgical performance and process flexibility.

The new flotation system complements equipment already ordered from FLS, including high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGRs), tower mills, KREBS pumps, and hydrocyclones. Together, these technologies will form the core of the beneficiation plant’s grinding and flotation circuits. Extensive laboratory and pilot-scale testing were carried out by FLS to develop a customised flowsheet intended to optimise recovery and operational efficiency.
