Hitachi Excavator Reaches 100,000-Hour Milestone

An EX3600-6 ultra-large hydraulic excavator from Hitachi Construction Machinery has surpassed 100,000 hours of operation at the Kumtor Gold Mine in Kyrgyzstan. Delivered in 2012, the machine has been working in one of the world’s most demanding mining environments, situated at an altitude of over 4,000 meters where winter temperatures can drop to minus 40°C. The achievement highlights the durability and reliability of Hitachi’s equipment, as well as the long-term support provided by its regional affiliate, Eurasian Machinery LLP, which has maintained continuous service coverage at the site.

Kumtor Gold operates five Hitachi EX3600-6 excavators in total, using them in open-pit gold mining operations that form a key part of Kyrgyzstan’s resource-driven economy. The milestone is also seen as a reflection of the strong collaboration between Hitachi Construction Machinery, Eurasian Machinery, and Kumtor Gold, with sustained technical support helping ensure stable performance over more than a decade of intensive use.
