Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. has released the EX5600-7P, a new ultra-large hydraulic excavator backhoe model designed to enhance productivity and durability in large-scale mining operations. With an operating weight of 558 tonnes, the machine delivers a 12% increase in production capacity over its predecessor, the EX5600-7. The company says that the improvements stem from an expanded bucket capacity, more powerful engine and hydraulic pump, and upgraded structural elements, with a particular focus on meeting demand in the Australian market.
Durability has been strengthened through the wider use of high-strength steel castings and revised structures for the boom, arm, and upper body frame. Access holes have also been added to simplify inspections. The EX5600-7P is compatible with Hitachi’s LANDCROS Connect Insight system, which gathers and analyses operational data in near real time to help improve fleet performance and efficiency.
All of Hitachi Construction Machinery’s mining products are developed and manufactured in-house, integrating digital technologies with established engineering processes aimed at improving safety, productivity, and environmental outcomes at mine sites.
