Hexagon Completes Acquisition of Septentrio

Hexagon has finalized its acquisition of Septentrio, a Belgium-based manufacturer of GPS/GNSS positioning technology for autonomy and mission-critical applications. The company says that this acquisition will enhance its position in the resilient positioning market, expanding access to high-accuracy and high-performance navigation solutions. Septentrio’s SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) optimized platform will be integrated into Hexagon’s portfolio to support a range of industries requiring precise and reliable positioning.

According to Hexagon, the acquisition will drive the adoption of autonomous systems in existing sectors while addressing the needs of emerging applications such as robotics, UAVs, and other mission-critical technologies. Septentrio will continue to supply GNSS technology to its OEM customer base, maintaining its established business model.

"Combining Hexagon's extensive positioning portfolio with Septentrio's innovative GNSS platforms will provide our customers with cutting-edge solutions, enabling autonomy and mission-critical applications for diverse markets. This strategic step allows us to push boundaries to deliver technology and products with the lowest SWaP, putting Hexagon at the forefront of the industry." said Gordon Dale, President of Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division.
