Weir has announced plans to acquire Micromine, a mining software provider based in Perth, Australia. The company says Micromine’s solutions support exploration, mine design, and operations, and that the acquisition will strengthen its digital capabilities. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
Weir states that Micromine’s business is based on a recurring software-as-a-service model, with strong growth and operating margins. The company plans to integrate Micromine with its existing digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency and leverage its global distribution network for further growth.
“The acquisition of Micromine is a significant step in our strategy of investing in technology to accelerate smart, efficient and sustainable mining. The combined force of Micromine and Weir will create a sector-leading globally scaled platform to optimise performance across the mining process.” said Jon Stanton, CEO of Weir.
