Tenova has entered a strategic partnership with Coolbrook to support the electrification of high-temperature industrial processes in the metals industry. The companies plan to integrate Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) technology into Tenova’s systems, starting with acid regeneration plants and expanding to other areas of iron, steel and metals production.
Tenova says the collaboration will combine its industrial expertise with Coolbrook’s technology to replace fossil fuel combustion with CO₂-free electricity. The RDH™ system can generate temperatures of up to 1700°C and is aimed at reducing emissions from processes that have been difficult to decarbonise using conventional methods.
“At Tenova, we are committed to driving the metals industries towards a more sustainable future. Our collaboration with Coolbrook marks a key milestone in decarbonizing high-temperature industrial processes by combining Coolbrook’s innovative RDH™ technology with our advanced solutions.” said Antonio Catalano, EVP for the Downstream BU at Tenova.
