AIC Mines and RCT Achieve Hybrid Loader Automation

RCT – Powered by Epiroc has completed its first installation of the AutoNav automation system on a CAT R2900 XE Hybrid loader for AIC Mines at the Eloise Copper Mine in Northwest Queensland. The mine, which has been in operation since 1996, recently acquired the hybrid loader as part of its strategy to enhance productivity while continuing to extract high-grade copper and gold ore.

The Mt Isa branch of RCT has a long history with the Eloise operation, supplying automation technology across much of the site’s underground loader fleet. This latest project represents the first time the branch has worked with CAT’s hybrid platform, and the team delivered the installation within a timeframe comparable to standard equipment upgrades.
