A leading gold operation in New South Wales has expanded its automated loader fleet, integrating four additional Sandvik LH621i units equipped with RCT’s AutoNav system. The mine has used the multi-machine automation platform for several years to enhance operational safety and productivity, and the latest installations extend full-fleet standardisation across its open pit and underground activities. AutoNav is operated from three control centres positioned at safe locations around the site, enabling autonomous loader management from both surface and underground environments.
The new installations were delivered by RCT’s local technical team, maintaining continuity with the site’s long-term automation strategy. According to RCT, applying the same automation technology across the entire fleet streamlines training, supports consistent performance and simplifies day-to-day operation. The site recently extended its lease, with RCT saying it will continue providing scalable automation solutions aligned with the mine’s future development plans.
“We offered local support by our talented local techs,” said Brisbane Branch Manager Owen Perrott. “There is a myriad of benefits from having the same automation applied across a client’s entire fleet. This includes an increase in productivity across the board as everyone is familiar with the technology and how it works.”
