Liebherr Machines Head to WA Gold Mine

Liebherr-Australia has begun delivering a new fleet of machines to Northern Star Resources Ltd, with five PR 776 dozers already commissioned as of February 2025. These are the first of 13 machines the company will supply throughout the year, which also include two additional PR 776s, five R 9150 excavators and an R 9400 excavator. Most of the units are set to work at the Super Pit in Kalgoorlie, with the remainder heading to the Thunderbox Operations site near Leonora.

The deliveries will bring Northern Star Resources’ total Liebherr fleet to 17, including four R 9400 excavators already in operation since 2022. Liebherr-Australia says this growing fleet is supported by its expanding presence in Western Australia, with recent upgrades to its Kalgoorlie and Perth facilities aimed at servicing equipment across the region.
