Multotec Introduces Flame Retardant Screen Panels

Multotec has developed Flame Retardant (FR) rubber screen panels to address the fire risks posed by vibrating screen decks in mineral processing operations. These panels are engineered from specialised rubber compounds to resist ignition and self-extinguish within 60 seconds, reducing the chance of fires spreading during maintenance activities such as welding or grinding. Designed to maintain durability and screening performance, the FR panels support continuous plant uptime by enhancing fire safety without compromising operational efficiency.

Originally developed for the Australian market in response to stricter fire safety regulations, the FR panels are now adopted by leading iron ore producers and certified to Australian standards. Suitable for both wet and dry screening across a wide range of commodities, including coal, copper, and diamonds, the panels come in different hardness options to suit specific operational requirements. Multotec continues to advance its flame retardant compounds to meet evolving safety standards and mining conditions.
