Metso has received an order to deliver a portable crushing and grinding circuit to a major gold operation in Western Australia. The circuit incorporates Metso’s High Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) technology, designed to improve efficiency by integrating with the site's existing crushing and grinding systems. This modular solution is the first of its kind to be deployed in the country and is scheduled to be operational within 12 months.
The setup includes a portable NW800HRC™ HPGR, a Nordwheeler™ NW200HPS cone crusher, a skid-mounted screen, and interlinked conveyors. According to Metso, the system reduces energy use, lowers emissions, and supports increased production by minimizing rehandling steps and decreasing the circulating load.
“Implementing portable HPGR technology in the thriving gold processing industry is a major development, enabling miners to flexibly increase their capacity with a short delivery and commissioning time,” said Bjorn Nielsen, Vice President, HPGR & Dry Grinding at Metso.
