Metso has launched HPGRSense™, a roll monitoring solution designed to optimize grinding efficiency in its HRC™e high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR). The system provides continuous, simultaneous monitoring of roll conditions, eliminating the need for process interruptions. Using an array of sensors and advanced analytics, HPGRSense™ detects anomalies, measures wear, and enables predictive maintenance, helping operators maximize roll performance and service life.
The company says that HPGRSense™ enhances its HRC™e HPGR by offering real-time insights and remote monitoring capabilities. Metso has a history of developing intelligent instruments for process optimization, and this latest addition aligns with its broader Metso Plus Sense series, which supports efficiency improvements across mineral processing operations.
“HPGRSense™ is transforming roll inspection and wear measurement on HPGR rolls while avoiding the limitations of existing laser-based solutions. HPGRSense™ safely and remotely gives operators full visibility to the rolls’ condition during operation, thereby increasing their understanding of the rolls’ state,” said Stefan Sakendorf, Director, HRC at Metso.
