Metso has introduced a new Metso Power Transmission (MPT) offering for grinding mills, developed to enhance reliability and control across mineral processing operations. The in-house–designed range includes the H-Series for horizontal mills and the R-Series for vertical applications, each engineered to integrate seamlessly with Metso equipment. According to the company, the systems are intended to support operational optimization, minimize downtime, and extend the service life of critical components.
Initially released for the aftermarket, the addition of in-house gearbox and drivetrain solutions broadens Metso’s scope across the mineral processing flowsheet. With more than 8,000 Metso grinding mills installed globally, the new range is positioned to strengthen lifecycle support through the company’s global service center network. Each unit is equipped with a plug-and-play condition monitoring system, designed to enable predictive maintenance and improve plant performance.
“Strengthening in-house gearbox and drivetrain capabilities allows us to optimize customer operations and expand the services that support our customers’ plant. We are increasing equipment predictability and reliability, empowering our customers to optimize operations with a true Metso solution,” said Kari Uusitalo, Vice President, Gearbox and Drivetrain Technology, Metso.
