Metso has confirmed an equipment order from Fortress Minerals Inc. covering two mining developments in Malaysia, the Bukit Besi iron ore project and the Mengapur copper project. Central to the delivery are two HRC™ High Pressure Grinding Rolls, supported by a range of complementary grinding and processing technologies. The order has been recorded in the company’s third-quarter 2025 results, though financial terms have not been disclosed.
The company highlights the HRC™ HPGR and stirred mill combination as a particularly energy-efficient flowsheet for grinding, noting its lower operating costs and reduced circulating load compared to conventional approaches. With this order, Metso adds to its growing installed base of HPGR units worldwide, highlighting continued demand for technologies that focus on energy efficiency, process reliability, and sustainability within mineral processing operations.
“This investment reflects the conclusion of a rigorous nine-month study into energy efficiency, availability, and process consistency. In the end, we placed our trust in Metso for their deep technical expertise, reliable product performance, and the strong support framework that assures long-term success for our operations,” said Mr. Ng Mun Fey, Chief Operating Officer and Project Leader at Fortress Minerals.
