Epiroc has named the recipients of its annual awards, highlighting customer collaboration, technical innovation, and rapid product development. The United in Performance Award was presented to teams in its Tools division and the Canadian Customer Center, in partnership with a mining contractor, for work that helped improve drilling productivity using the Powerbit X. Other winners include an employee from South Africa’s Digital Solutions division, recognized for developing the Titan Collision Avoidance System, and a Surface division R&D team in China credited with accelerating the development of the GiA Q6i drill rig.
According to Epiroc, the GiA Q6i was designed to meet growing demand for smart mining solutions in China and includes features such as single-hole automation, LiDAR and 5G-based remote control. The company also points to the commercial rollout of the Titan CAS system in multiple regions and the use of diamond-protected drill bits to extend tool life in challenging conditions as examples of how the award-winning projects align with its focus on safety, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
“The award winners are excellent ambassadors of Epiroc’s core values innovation, commitment and collaboration. We keep focusing on supporting our customers with solutions that strengthen their safety and productivity and lower their emissions and total cost of ownership. Congratulations to the winners!” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.
