Epiroc plans to consolidate its North American drilling tools manufacturing by relocating production from its Langley, Canada, facility to its site in Matehuala, Mexico. The company says the move will streamline operations within its Tools division and improve service across the Americas. The transition will begin in the third quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by early 2027.
The Matehuala facility, which already manufactures rock drills, will take on the production of rotary and raiseboring drilling tools currently made in Canada. Epiroc adds that the change will involve the transfer of equipment and will affect approximately 65 employees at the Langley site.
“The consolidation will create better and more sustainable conditions for Epiroc to maintain and strengthen its presence throughout the Americas, without compromising on the quality or availability of the products,” said Martin Hjerpe, President of Epiroc’s Tools division.
