Epiroc has expanded its underground haulage line-up with the introduction of the Minetruck MT33, a 33-tonne machine aimed at boosting productivity in medium-drift mining operations. Drawing on design principles from its larger trucks, the MT33 is presented as a compact yet robust option intended to support high hauling efficiency while fitting into tighter underground profiles. The company highlights a low-profile build and automatic transmission as features that contribute to quicker ramp speeds and consistent performance in demanding conditions.
Evolved from the long-running Minetruck MT436B, the MT33 is positioned as a step forward in durability, safety and operator comfort. Key elements include factory-fitted emergency stops, fail-safe braking systems and integrated cameras intended to improve visibility. Components are arranged to minimise wear and extend service life, while a smart PLC display is designed to simplify diagnostics and support monitoring across operations.
“The robust design and low profile of the Minetruck MT33, combined with automatic transmission and high ramp speeds, ensures efficient and reliable operations in demanding underground environments,” said Prerna Devkar, Global Product Manager Minetruck – Small Segment at Epiroc’s Underground division.
