Epiroc AB has received a substantial order from Asante Gold Corp. for a fleet of underground mining equipment and digital solutions to be used at the Chirano Gold Mine in southwestern Ghana. The Canadian-owned operation, which includes both underground and open-pit mining, will receive Minetruck MT65 S haulers, Scooptram ST18 S loaders, Boomer M20 S face drilling rigs and Simba E70 S production drilling rigs. All models form part of Epiroc’s Smart series, designed to be automation ready. The order, valued at around MSEK 115 (USD 12 million), was booked in the third quarter of 2025.
The project also includes a digital situational awareness system that provides near real-time insight into production performance, monitoring key metrics such as tonnages moved, drilling meters, and cycle times. Delivery of the equipment has begun and will continue over the coming months, accompanied by Epiroc’s provision of tools, spare parts and service support.
“We are very pleased to support Asante Gold with our top-modern loaders, trucks and drilling rigs. The digital situational awareness solution will boost operational efficiency as well as safety through improved production monitoring.” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.
