Epiroc AB has broken ground on a new production and research facility in Nashik, India, as part of its ongoing investment in the country’s mining and infrastructure sectors. The site, covering around 175,000 m², will house production, prototyping, R&D laboratories, offices, and a dedicated test track for equipment. Operations are planned to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with phased expansions over the following years.
The development will focus on manufacturing and innovating underground and surface mining and construction equipment, with the aim of strengthening safety and productivity for customers both in India and worldwide. Approximately 200 new jobs will be created in Nashik, adding to Epiroc’s existing Indian workforce of 1,750 employees across several locations, including Hyderabad where the company recently expanded its rock drilling tool production and opened a new technology center.
“The new facility in Nashik is a key step in further expanding our presence in the growing and very important Indian market, and it will also support our customers globally,” said Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.
