Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has secured an order from Compañia de Minas Buenaventura for a fleet of 36 underground mining machines to be deployed at three of the company’s operations in Peru. The order includes a mix of underground drills and loaders, with more than half of the drills featuring Sandvik’s i-series intelligent technology. Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and continue into early 2026.
The fleet will support operations at Buenaventura’s El Brocal, Uchucchacua, and Yumpag mines, which collectively produce silver, copper, zinc, lead, and gold. Sandvik will also provide spare parts, components, and maintenance services for the equipment.
“We are honored, proud and happy for this award and we will deploy our resources, dedication and talent to become Buenaventura’s number one partner in productivity and safety,” said Ricardo Pachon, Vice President Sales Area Andean & South Cone, Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.
