Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has launched the Sandvik D50KX, the latest addition to its x-series rotary blasthole drill range. Designed for mid-class rotary and down-the-hole (DTH) drilling, the compact rig supports hole diameters from 127 to 229 millimeters (5 to 9 inches). It features advanced digital connectivity to enhance precision and efficiency in drill-and-blast operations. The rig's extended mast allows for single-pass drilling up to 11 meters (36 feet), with a total depth capacity of 20.1 meters (66 feet).
Integrated digital tools, including the TIM3D GPS navigation package and My Sandvik solutions via Knowledge Box™, provide real-time data for drill positioning, maintenance, and performance monitoring. A system load management function and a compressor control system aim to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while improving component longevity and hole quality.
“Sandvik D50KX offers digitally driven, enhanced productivity, helping drill-and-blast operators improve productivity and reduce cost via enhanced digital applications. As demand for our rotary blasthole drills continues to grow, this expansion of our x-series range reinforces our customer-centric approach.” said Patrick Murphy, President of Rotary Drilling at Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.
