Sandvik Unveils MD/MDX Peg Bolt with Installation Indicator

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has introduced the MD/MDX Peg Bolt, an addition to its ground support product range for underground mining. The new peg bolt incorporates a visible installation indicator, which Sandvik states improves underground safety by providing a clear indication of correct and complete bolt installation. This feature builds on the existing MD/MDX Bolt technology, aiming to support reliable ground reinforcement.

The peg component, a plastic disc placed beneath the ID tab, becomes visible once the bolt is correctly installed at the designated torque level. This indicator remains even after blasting cycles, designed to offer long-lasting visibility and peace of mind for underground operations. According to Sandvik, the MD/MDX Peg Bolt complements the technical features of the MD/MDX Bolt, underscoring the company’s commitment to advancing underground safety standards.
