Mexican underground contractor La Cantera Desarrollos Mineros has placed a Q2 2025 order with Sandvik Mining for 64 underground machines, with deliveries scheduled from 2025 through 2028. The company says the package—covering Toro® loaders, Sandvik DD series development jumbos and DS series rock bolters—will support its projects across Mexico and comes with technical support and operator training.
Sandvik added that the agreement extends a long running collaboration in which La Cantera already operates 82 Sandvik units and last year took delivery of the manufacturer’s 8,000th DS311 rock bolter. According to Sandvik, the latest deal reflects both parties’ focus on safety, reliability and continual technology upgrades.
“We value our longstanding partnership with La Cantera Desarrollos Mineros, a company that shares our dedication to technological advancement. This new equipment order underscores our mutual commitment to safety, reliability and innovation.” said Mats Eriksson, President of Sandvik Mining.
