Sandvik has announced DataDrive’31, a six-year technology initiative designed to accelerate the digital transformation of the mining industry through data-driven innovation. With a total budget of EUR 80 million, the program is supported by Business Finland, which has granted EUR 16 million for the first three-year phase and may contribute an additional EUR 16 million for the second phase. The remaining investment will be funded directly by Sandvik, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing digitalization across the mining value chain.
The initiative will focus on developing and integrating data-based technologies to improve productivity, safety and sustainability in mining operations. By enabling predictive and prescriptive systems and creating new digital products and services, Sandvik aims to support smarter and more efficient mine management.
“DataDrive’31 is at the forefront of the technological transformation of the mining industry. Business Finland’s support accelerates our planned R&D work in key technology areas and strengthens our competitiveness in global markets.” said Mats Eriksson, President, Mining at Sandvik.
