Epiroc has introduced the new generation PowerROC T45 surface drill rig, designed to enhance fuel efficiency and operational availability. The updated rig features an Epiroc-developed control system that automatically optimises engine RPM for all operations, resulting in up to 40% lower fuel consumption compared to the previous model. Its intuitive 12-inch display provides operators with real-time data and assistance, while two one-touch lever controls simplify rod changing and drilling tasks. The modular design also supports straightforward servicing.
Building on the success of the PowerROC T35 MKII, the PowerROC T45 MKII offers an expanded hole range to meet customer demands in construction sites, quarries, and aggregate operations. Field tests have confirmed the rig meets key performance targets. Two engine options are available—Tier 3/Stage IIIA and Tier 4 Final/Stage 5—to accommodate varying regulatory requirements.
“We are eager to get this rig out to our customers around the world. The PowerROC T45 MKII is the perfect choice for construction sites and aggregate, cement and limestone quarries,” said Masanori Kogushi, Senior Product Manager at Epiroc.
